It is estimated that the sedimentary rock that comprises the Sacramento Valley was formed 252 million years ago. The 252 Evolver aims to root aspiring ag entrepreneurs in Sacramento to our collective history while propelling toward a more inclusive and regenerative future.
Cohort members will spend Monday and Wednesday nights from August 6 to September 10 learning about the Sacramento Valley's natural history, define their personal and farming vision, how to utilize Human Centered Design for testing business ideas, hearing from seasoned farmers, options to access land, and farming laws.
Over the course of the year, they will continue to meet monthly to dive deeper into selected topics while working on urban farms in the Region.
This program is made possible by funding from the California Endowment, Building Healthy Communities Initiative.
